For a light-weight option that's great for city streets, take a look at the Joie Evalite Duo. It's easy to move and has a large basket that is full of storage. It can accommodate twins from at birth and will accept two car seats or a carrycot with a seat. The seats are required to be oriented forward and there's not enough space for a shopping bag underneath which is why you'll need a sidepack to do that.

If you like to travel off-road and off-road, the Mountain Buggy Duet is a good option. It's a side by tandem with the slimmest footprint of any double buggy on the market. This makes it easier to pass through doors with narrow openings and on public transport and enables you to climb up and down kerbs with no trouble. It's an all-terrain pushchair with a soft suspension to make smooth work of bumpy surfaces. It has 30 different seating options and a built-in board for older children who like to walk, and a 'cinema mode' that raises the back seat for better visibility.

The phil&teds dots are fantastic single buggys that can be easily modified to take two (or three!) in various configurations. This is especially helpful when you have a child in a car. The frame can be adapted to a wedgie, which allows for the most optimal lying-flat position. Or car seat adapters that can be used with various brands.

Suspension

The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine the ease with which your child/children and you can push it. It is important to have a smooth ride, as babies can feel every bump in the road. This is especially the case if you're driving on rough terrain like grass or roads that aren't paved. Some models come with locking front tires to assist in maneuvering and getting over obstacles like curbs.

Some models have tyres with air filled that are great for all-terrain rides, but they can be prone punctures. Be sure to keep an extra set of tyres in your trunk. Certain models come with foam or gel-filled tyres that are designed to absorb bumps. They are less likely to puncture, but they might cause discomfort for your child if you decide to run.

Folding

A 3-wheel double buggy can fold up quite neatly for storage. The more wheels the buggy has, generally, the easier it is to maneuver on rough terrain. This is especially applicable if the wheels are larger than the average. This will give you more stability and make it less likely that your children will fall over or tip over.

If you want to jog with your kids this is the ideal double buggie for jogging because it has a lockable swivel front wheel that can help you keep your balance when you're on off-road or hilly tracks. It comes with a huge undercarriage, a movable handlebar, and soft suspension for an enjoyable ride.

This is a light compact model that folds with one hand. It's ideal for travel. It's compatible with a broad range of infant car seats and has a handy pull-out undercarriage basket that can be used to store shopping. It's not cheap however it comes with several distinctive features, like its one-click folding and many extras, like bumper bars or raincovers.

Storage

Many people are amazed by the storage capacity of a triple-wheeled buggy. Some models, such as the Roma Atlas, have a large basket and two zip pockets on the hood that you can store your phone and keys. It's also designed to withstand a bit rough terrain which makes it a great option for family walks and all-terrain hikes.

Other models, like the UPPAbaby Vista 2 offer plenty of space and the flexibility to accommodate twins or a toddler and a baby (it utilizes their 'PiggyBack' board allow this to be done). It's the smallest side-by-side double buggy 3 wheels available. It also has some impressive features, such as LED lights for visibility that are placed on both sides of its frame to increase safety in low-light conditions.
