World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades on its own.

A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, Item upgrading at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are exceptionally lucky.

Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their stats. This can boost the defense base of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reduce its value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button in the item upgrades menu, using the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which makes it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, Item upgrading the more health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and have completed the fountain that corresponds, you can then talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to focus on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few improvements to the helmets and chest armor that allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. In addition the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a craft table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item upgrades's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade until you make use of it again or break the bottle in which it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance the splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display). The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the potion and refills the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be an ornamental item upgrader that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant, such as a thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. As with other upgrades to items trinkets, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying new ones. You can upgrade a trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once the old ones are no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them a popular alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear, and then other equipment that they won't replace in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player and they want to upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.

Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
