What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a brand new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. This Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to see and buy upgrades.

Boosters

Some upgrades also provide a secondary random boost in addition to stat enhancements. These boosts can be very valuable and should be considered when choosing which items to upgrade. Some boosts are beneficial in certain builds (such as Whistan's shield for FB sorcs) while others can provide an enormous amount of value to specific collectors.

Certain items come with a built-in boos, which is less effective when upgraded. For example the Goldwrap has an extra slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to inject more value into an item that is perfect or close to being perfect.

Costs

Upgrades come with some associated costs. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. Upgrading an item is an intricate process that takes time. Based on the magnitude of the upgrade, it can take up to 8 hours. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl as well as other properties. This calculation determines new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important statistics. In some instances, an upgrade can grant additional benefits. These perks are available on a list.

In rare instances the upgrade will replace only the highest-costing perks. An Upgrade Pity is a product you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of a successful upgrade by some percentage. It is similar to the "luck bonus" that some items provide, but it is more secure. It can be added to any weapon or armor and can be used three times.

It is also possible to add a range of additional items to the upgrade, which increases the chance of success. These materials are displayed in a separate window above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version of it, can be used to boost the likelihood of an upgrade being successful. This item can be helpful if your weapon or piece is near or has reached the top level of its tier. This item will allow you upgrade the equipment to the next level without risking its breaking.
